Instagram is filled with a lot of silly hashtags and trends like selfies and those ridiculous belfies, so it's refreshing to see a viral trend emerge on the photo sharing network that's actually good for something. Enter TOMS' One Day Without Shoes campaign.
The shoe company is using the #WITHOUTSHOES hashtag on Instagram to help the company go viral and provide much-needed shoes to less-fortunate children around the world.
To get involved, all you need to do is take a barefoot photo of yourself and post it to Instagram with the hashtag #WITHOUTSHOES. For every photo posted, TOMS will give a new pair of shoes to a child in need.
Giving away free shoes to needy children isn't anything new for TOMS. Every time a customer purchases a pair of shoes from the company, TOMS gives away a pair. But, with A Day Without Shoes, you don't have to buy anything. All you have to do is kick off your shoes and take a photo.
The #WITHOUTSHOES campaign started on May 5 and will finish on May 21. After that, you can visit the TOMS website to see just how many shoes were donated because of your barefoot photos.
