I can hardly believe it's been exactly one decade since the first-ever YouTube video was uploaded! Now 10 years and billions of video hours later, YouTube is an undeniable major cultural force. Videos posted on YouTube have launched (and ended) careers and even changed laws. On the other hand, it is also probably responsible for single-handedly reducing at least some office worker productivity. The incredibly successful video sharing site now has far too many viral videos to count.
But before there was Gangham Style, Kittens, Inspired by Kittens, and the Dramatic Chipmunk, there was the very first viral smash, Charlie Bit my Finger. The video posted back in 2007 of a baby biting his older brother's finger has been played more than 815 million times! Click here to watch it now, in case you haven't seen it.
That's not too bad for a video that was only uploaded because the video file was too big for the boys' dad to email to other family members.
Guess what? Charlie and his brother aren't babies anymore! The older sibling, Harry, is now 11 and Charlie is 9! My, how time flies!
