You're on your way out the door and suddenly you realize your phone is nowhere to be found. It's happened to all of us, but now Google is here for the rescue. The company just introduced a brand new feature that lets Android gadget users find their lost phone's exact location just by searching for it on Google.
It's true. Next time your phone goes M.I.A, it's as simple as typing "Find my phone" into the Google search engine on your computer. Just make sure you have the latest version of the Google app installed on your Android phone and your computer is logged into your Google account.
Google will locate your phone and show you exactly where it is on a map. That would be a huge help if you left your phone at a restaurant or a friend's house for example.
But what if you know your phone is somewhere in your home, but you still can't find it? Google has a solution for that as well. In that case, you can click a button to trigger your phone's ringer to sound off. Then just follow the sound until you find your phone hiding in the sofa cushion or at the bottom of the laundry basket.
