A 13-year-old girl is home safe and her 55-year-old alleged kidnapper is behind bars, but not before he took her on the run across 4 states. And you won't believe how it all started with Facebook!

But it could have been SO much worse. Next time it could be a child you care about, and it might not end so well. Your children and grandchildren are more active online than you probably know, and in the case of this young teen, the near-disaster could have been averted.

This is one of the big reasons why I constantly remind you why it's so important to monitor your kids' social media use. Hannah Kennish, a teen from Missouri, was found 850 miles away in New Mexico with a man she had met online. And here's the scary part, her mother had absolutely no idea her young daughter was involved with an older man until after she disappeared out the back door.

Amy Kennish, Hannah's mother, said that she discovered Hannah was missing only minutes before she called the police. "I couldn't find her," she said. "And I walked through my kitchen. The back door was open and she was gone." She searched the house and yard, but there was no sign of her daughter.
