Apple sold a record 74.5 million iPhones in the last quarter of 2014 thanks in large part to the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. If you're not an Apple user, you might be asking what all the fuss is about. Now's the time to find out. That's because Apple is giving a big incentive to non-Apple users to try and convince them to switch their allegiances.
Since 2013, iPhone users have been able to recycle their old phones through Apple to earn Apple gift cards that can be used toward the purchase of new gadgets. Now, Apple has opened up that program up to all smartphone users.
That's right, you can now recycle old smartphones from other manufacturers and receive a gift card toward your next Apple purchase. Just one exception, the gift cards cannot be used toward the purchase of an Apple Watch.
