Just last week, a gas leak in New York City's East Village caused an explosion that destroyed three buildings and injured 25 people, with two people still missing. Despite this tragedy, people are already showing up at the blast site to snap "selfies" for social media.
In many ways, having a camera in your pocket at all times is a good thing. It makes capturing happy moments at birthday parties, holidays and other family events easier than ever. But, these people are proving that always having a camera on hand can be a curse, too.
These people are taking smiling photos in front of the gas explosion site and then sharing them with their friends. I think that exploiting a senseless tragedy for a few likes on Instagram or Facebook is just plain wrong. Take a look at one of the photos and let me know if you agree.
