Another Florida man has made headlines. You might be familiar with the "Florida man" stories, since it seems to be a news trope. Every day, some man in Florida has done something crazy, but I gotta say, this one takes the cake.

This is a true crime story that could be the script for a "Law & Order" episode. It's all about this guy that faked his own death and was caught thanks to new facial recognition software.

Jose Lantigua was a Florida man wanted for seven counts of insurance fraud and one count for intent to commit fraud, which totaled over $1.7 million in losses from creditors and other companies.

But just when the local police were closing in on him, Lantigua died in one of his many homes, and the police were unable to press charges. That is, until facial recognition found him.
