Facebook's gradual takeover of the Internet continues

How much news do you get exclusively from Facebook? If your answer was none, then you might have to look toward the social media site to get more of your news in the future.

According to The New York Times, the company has been "quietly holding talks with at least half a dozen media companies about hosting their content inside Facebook rather than making users tap a link to go to an external site."

That means that news could soon be moving directly through Facebook rather than linking you to other sites. If you've noticed that there are fewer news sites and articles that your friends have "liked" on your Facebook feed, this might be a result of the creepy psychological experiments that Facebook ran on hundreds of thousands of users over the summer.

Facebook knows how to play with our emotions, and it's hoping that major news organizations give it the content to do it with.
