Now you can send money to Facebook friends, but should you?

Going out to dinner with friends is great until the check arrives. If the restaurant doesn't split the tab for you, figuring how who owes what can be a nightmare. That's a major reason why mobile peer-to-peer payment apps are all the rage right now. Instead of fumbling with cash and IOUs, you can send your portion of the bill to your friends instantly using your smartphone.

Facebook is trying to capitalize on the popularity of apps like this by integrating a similar payment system into its website and mobile messenger app. The feature will allow you to connect your debit card to your account and then pay friends right through your gadget or computer.

The payment feature is going to roll out in the U.S. over the next couple of weeks. It sounds really convenient, but not everyone is excited to transfer money over Facebook.
