Look ma, no hands! Well, not quite yet. Self-driving cars are the future, even if that future is taking a while to show up. Now, carmaker Audi is aiming for a major milestone that will bring the future one step closer to the present.
Remember earlier this year when an automated Audi drove from San Francisco to Las Vegas? It was only a 550-mile ride, and the self-driving car was bristling with sensors and cameras to make the trip.
Now, Audi and Delphi Automotive are teaming up to set the new North American record for the furthest self-driving car trip in history, and they're doing it in style. This time there's no sign of all that equipment, even though it's still there and more powerful than ever. I don't think even I would be able to spot the newest test vehicle if it wasn't for the paint job.
