There's a new virus out there threatening Android users. It's masquerading as an Amazon Rewards app, but it's actually anything but. Instead of great deals, your gadget will be full of unwanted advertisements and clutter.

The virus is called Gazon and it makes money by taking you to all sorts of online advertisements. Worse yet, it spreads by sending text messages to all of your contacts with a link to download the app. The text message usually says something like "I am sending you $200 Amazon Gift Card You can Claim it here" followed by the link.

So, even if you receive a text like this from someone you know and trust, don't click it. The virus is just using their contact list to spread to other gadgets.
