Robot journalists will soon be covering sports in your newspaper

The Roomba. The Poseidon system. bartenders and self-driving cars. What do all these things have in common?

They are robots that are taking over human jobs, and doing quite well at it. Now, robots are poised to take over another, albeit very unsuspecting job description: Sports Journalist.

One of the biggest international news organizations, the Associated Press, has just announced that robot journalists will be writing news articles on college games played, curated from stats provided by the NCAA. The robojournalists will cover Division I baseball, Division I women’s basketball, Division II and III football, and Division II and III men’s basketball.

This means that no matter how small the college town in, there will be some sort of article written and available on the Associated Press' wire services for outlets across the country to use.
