A Facebook post landed this guy in an Abu Dhabi prison cell

One thing that makes our country so amazing is the First Amendment guaranteeing free speech. That's why social media is such a big deal in America. We can (mostly) say what we want and our basic freedoms are still protected.

But you know that you still have to be careful what you post to social media. Potential or even current employers can look at your social media and see exactly what you're up to.

Unfortunately for one American citizen, Ryan Pate, the United Arab Emirates arrested him for a Facebook post he made. But here's the kicker: The post to Facebook was made on American soil. Unfortunately, Pate still faces up to five years in prison for a simple post to Facebook.

I understand that different countries have different laws and customs, but this is just outrageous. Find out what he posted, why he was arrested, and whether there's hope he could avoid a five-year prison sentence.
