iRobot, the company behind the Roomba robotic vacuum, is developing what could be a revolutionary device: A robot lawn mower. That's right, a robot could soon be doing your lawn for you.
Between mowing your lawn yourself or hiring someone to do it, there hasn't ever been all that many lawn mowing options. While riding mowers may be comfortable, they still don't totally save you from having to go outside and cut the grass.
iRobot says that it's developing its new robot to make "lawn cutting more accessible to the elderly and disabled." The company revealed its interest in building robots specialized toward elder care in October, and this robot might be its first leap toward that goal.
The government is stepping in, however, and it might slow production.
