How do you tell if the meat in your refrigerator has gone bad? You could give it a sniff, but anyone who's ever come down with a nasty case of food poisoning can tell that doesn't work 100% of the time. That's why this new gadget sounds so great. It will actually "smell" your food for you to find out if it's still good to eat or not.
The FOODsniffer can pick up warning signs that your nose would miss, like odorless compounds that are present in spoiled meat. It does this by taking a sample of the air around your beef, chicken, pork or fish. It then analyzes that for temperature, humidity, ammonia and other warning signs.
All of the results are sent to your smartphone through a Bluetooth connection, so you can see the results and avoid eating spoiled food. It could also stop you from throwing out safe food just because you think it might have gone bad.
