If you've ever seen an ad on a website, chances are it's a Google ad. Google partners with hundreds of thousands of advertisers to put ads on billions of webpages across the Internet. In fact, it's the main revenue source for Google.

So why would Google disable a whopping 524 million - yes, million - ads on its ad network in 2014? The reason why should worry you, since it affects your online security.

Google works to make sure that the ads that it puts on all those websites are safe, and that's why it dipped into its own pocket to disable ads that could be potentially harmful. Unfortunately, that's not the whole story.
