The first thing that I said when I heard about "keyless" cars was this: "How long until they get hacked?"

A security flaw in BMW's ConnectedDrive means that hackers could wirelessly open any of the 2.2 million vehicles that used the program. Affected vehicle makes include:

  • BMW
  • Mini
  • Rolls-Royce

While BMW claims that it isn't aware of the flaw being exploited yet, there's one major issue: Without a mandatory software update, these cars are still vulnerable.

The only way to get these updates is from a BMW server. Presumably, you'd find a BMW server at your local BMW dealership. If you think that your car might be affected, then get over there ASAP.

If you want to see what a hacker can do once they've managed to hack your car, then click here to watch a shocking video.
