Plenty of people are using Airbnb right now in Phoenix to rent out their homes and make extra cash when the Super Bowl is in town. One man is putting his own unique twist on the trend by renting out something a little different: the trunk of his Tesla.
You read that right. For $85 a night, travelers in Phoenix can sleep in Steve Sasman's Tesla Model S. He's outfitted the car with a twin air mattress and candles to make guests feel more comfortable, too.
Sasman is also quick to point out that you can use the heat, A/C and entertainment system throughout the night because the Tesla doesn't use any gasoline.
How do you go to the bathroom in a car? Not to worry. The Airbnb listing says guests will be able to use the kitchen, TV room and bathroom in his condo.
"As the Tesla is of course my transportation, I would request that you are up by 8am so I can get to work," he writes. "However, this is very flexible and we can agree on a time the night before of course! You are free to hang out in the Condo and even sleep-in longer on the big comfy couch if you like."
This is the Tesla trunk currently listed on Airbnb.
Obviously, these wacky accommodations aren't for everyone. Sasman says that basketball players need not apply, because no one over 6' 6" will fit in the car.
