It's amazing, folks. We now live in a world where you can design and 3-D print a working drone in just a few hours. It may sound a bit scary, but from a purely technological perspective, it's an exciting time to be alive.
Thanks to a group from Harvard, you can look forward to printing out 3-D models in only two hours. The difference in this new printer and others already commercially available is that it can print fully functioning electronics in a matter of a few hours.
The secret is that this 3-D printer, called the Voxel8, also prints conducting silver paste in the form of circuit boards. The formula for the silver paste is top secret.
So while the body is being printed, the electronic portions of the drone are being printed at the same time. The result is that a fully-formed and immediately usable drone is ready to fly off the shelf.
