This means that people are more willing to spend money on things that they still have to assemble, like a bookshelf or a bed, or in Chevy's case, a car engine.
Now for the low price of $5,000, Chevrolet will kindly let you build the new Corvette Z06's engine yourself. I'm not so sure that a car engine is as easy to assemble as an Ikea bed frame, but there's no denying that it would be an incredible experience.
