It seems like Apple released iOS 8 just yesterday. But, Apple users shouldn't get too comfortable with the newest version of the operating system for iPhones and iPads, because the tech giant is already testing out its replacement. That's right, iOS 9 could be here sooner than you think.
The news first came out when websites noticed Internet traffic to their sites from an operating system labeled "9.0." Businesses can use common analytics tools like Google Analytics to learn more about their site's visitors, including operating system information.
Apple is probably testing out the new iOS for a release later this year. Last year, Apple announced iOS 8 at its developers conference in June. The event will probably take place in June again this year.
We don't know much about the new features that will be available in iOS 9 since it's still early in development. Hopefully Apple will work out all the kinks and can avoid the bugs and glitches that plagued iOS 8 early on.
Just because Apple is keeping its mouth shut about features doesn't mean the Internet is staying quiet, though. Tech blogger Ralph Theodory has posted a video on YouTube with thoughts about what iOS 9 might look like.
Elsewhere, the concept shows a Remote Fix mode that could help technicians repair a device remotely, and Siri Spell - a feature designed to help Siri become more attuned to the user's voice.
Theodory's concept also shows button and menu customization options, energy-saving Night Mode, a Settings search feature and more.
