It's mind-blowing how much information Facebook knows about us. We voluntarily give that information away, but we don't often realize just what can be done with that info.
Giving away your information is way easier than you'd think. Have you liked or shared something on Facebook, ever? Then Facebook and other data companies are using that information to guess what you like and target you for ads.
Don't believe me? The University of Cambridge Psychometrics Centre has created a quick online quiz that will show you just how much advertisers and other data companies know about you.
Take this instant test to see what Facebook knows or guesses about you. You don't have to answer any questions, just sign in to your Facebook account. The one caveat is that you have to have liked more than 10 things on Facebook, otherwise the software won't be able to complete an analysis.
Just by looking at your likes on Facebook, a company can determine more about you than your siblings, parents, friends and coworkers with just 70-150 likes. However, it takes about 300 points of data to fool a spouse.
And since Facebook users have about 227 likes on average, according to the Cambridge study, it's not too far of a leap to say that this technology could know us better than our spouses.
You can see more of the data about the study below.
