It seems that the theme of CES 2015 is the self-driving car. CES - the Consumer Electronics Show - is an expo held every year in Vegas to showcase the newest and most incredible technological advances in the consumer tech industry.
The biggest reveal so far this year has been Audi's self-driving car, and now Mercedes is ready to take over the spotlight with its own vision of the future. Enter the Mercedes F 015, Luxury in Motion.
The driver can take complete control of the vehicle or can allow the car to drive itself. But that's not all this incredible concept boasts.
This gorgeously sci-fi vehicle seems more like a futuristic carriage than a car as we know it. With the wheels situated in the very corners of the body, the car doors open to reveal a "living area" with four swivel seats that turn 30 degrees.
A single pane of glass covers the top of the car, and the body is made of carbon-fiber, aluminum and high-strength steel. The engine is a hybrid of hydrogen fuel cell and electric motor - able to travel 685 miles in a single charge.
One really neat feature of this slick vehicle is that it can project a crosswalk onto the road at night to let pedestrians known when it's safe to cross. It will also flash a display "Stop" in the front of the vehicle to catch a pedestrian's attention.
You really have to see it for yourself. Take a look at the video below to see the Mercedes F 015 in action. There's no word yet on when this concept will be available to the public or how much it will cost.
