You should never call 911 unless it's a real emergency. Otherwise, you could be clogging up the lines when someone who really needs help is trying to call. That seems obvious to most of us, but one kid in Florida proved that not everyone has that much common sense.

So, why did he call 911? His video games weren't working. It sounds like a joke, but it's true. Recently, a DDoS attack shut down online gaming services PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. Instead of calling Microsoft or Sony to get an update on the situation, this kid called 911.

The operator wasn't happy about the call. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Department even released some of the transcript on Twitter. It's priceless.

This kid is obviously completely unaware of the appropriate use of the 911 system. Luckily, the operator filled him in and told him he shouldn't call 911 in that type of situation.

The operator even had a little advice for the guy, who was obviously taking his gaming a little too seriously. Take a look at the transcript below.

So, all of the parents and grandparents out there should take a second to let your kids know when it's appropriate to call 911. It might seem like common knowledge but apparently it's not.
