If you have an iPad or iPhone, it's important to know as much as you can about updates coming down the pipe. Apple updates can dramatically change the operation of your tablet or phone - and not always for the better.
In the iOS switch for Apple gadgets from iOS 7 to iOS 8, the battery life, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and other essential functions have been affected pretty significantly. Enough for Apple to have pushed out no less than five updates for iOS 8 since the switch was made earlier this year.
And while Apple has announced that the latest major update to iOS 8 users - iOS 8.2 - will be in late January/early February, there seems to be a new, smaller update already circling around.
How do we know? Some Apple gadgets have been spotted connecting to sites online with a new iOS tag: iOS 8.1.3.
It's not yet known what bug fixes or security patches will be in iOS 8.1.3, but numerically speaking it should come before the next major iOS 8 push next year. Will we see this new update or is it just for a handful of developers?
We'll just have to wait and see.
