Amazon Prime Now promises one-hour delivery

Amazon Prime Now promises one-hour delivery
Amazon

Lately, Amazon has had me asking 'What will they think of next?' The company recently unveiled plans to let you order a handyman and other services right through its website and is even beta-testing food delivery for users. But, if those new features didn't impress you, Amazon's latest new offer will - guaranteed one-hour shipping.

That's right. Just 60 minutes and your package could arrive on your doorstep. This lightning-fast delivery is exclusively available to Amazon Prime subscribers. Like its other new features, Amazon Prime Now isn't available everywhere yet. It's rolling out in parts of Manhattan, but Amazon has plans to roll out the service in other cities, too.

Amazon Prime Now also doesn't cover every single product on Amazon. It's not too limited, though. It includes thousands of popular items from the site, from electronics to daily necessities like paper towels and laundry detergent.

You can't just select Amazon Prime Now shipping through the Amazon website or app. You've got to download the dedicated Amazon Prime Now app to your gadget. Once you've done that, the process is familiar. Just search for what you want and add it to your cart.

One-hour shipping starts at $7.99, or you can choose two-hour shipping for free. You can also choose other delivery times throughout the day that work for you.

Even though one-hour shipping hasn't rolled out across the country, Amazon Prime members outside of Manhattan can still get free 2-day shipping on packages. Not a Prime member? Click here to learn how to get free shipping without a subscription.
