You know it's only a matter of time before everyone has been attacked online at least once. Hackers and other Internet bad guys will stop at nothing to get your personal information or destroy your online reputation.

It seems that not even the king of social media is exempt from attacks online. Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook page has been under non-stop assault for the last couple of days, but not by who you think.

Zuckerberg was updating his timeline by adding a couple of events in his life, like his marriage to his wife back in May 2012 and his decision to become vegan in 2011. And that's where the problems started.

These posts were public, and the public took huge advantage of them. Brazilian posters began spamming Zuck's comment feeds with thousands of weird images, stickers, memes and comments.

There's no clear reason why these posts are happening, and why it's mainly Brazilian Facebook users. But one thing is clear: It's completely out of control.

"Some of the commenters have even begun leaving images that say things like (roughly translated), “this trolling is out of control.” Many also just say “come join the ‘zueira,'” which basically means trolling or disorder. “Trolling today, trolling tomorrow, trolling forever” reads one. “Go go go zoeira” proclaims another."

There was a Facebook page that was titled (in Portuguese) "Flood that Mark" which seemed to be the epicenter of the attacks, spurring users to complete "challenges," but it has since been taken down by Facebook administrators.

If you don't have your privacy settings locked down on Facebook, this could happen to you. You probably won't run into the sheer volume of spam, but tolls can still be a massive problem if they think you're a target worth pursuing.

What you need to do is lock down your Facebook profile information right now. Click here to learn about your Facebook privacy settings.
