I love GIFs! Those short, endlessly looping animated pictures are all over the Internet and I couldn't be happier about it. Now, YouTube is making it way easier to make GIFs out of its videos.
How do you use this experimental new feature?
Because it's still in Beta testing, you can try the GIF maker out on only one channel - PBS Idea Channel. But, with this fun new feature, GIFs are extremely easy to make.
All you need to do is load up the video and click Share. Then you will see GIF as an option. Click on GIF and select your clip. Clips can be no longer than 6 seconds and you even have the option to add text. Once you're finished, click Create Gif. That's it. Super easy.
There's no official word on when (or if) YouTube will roll out this feature to all videos. In the meantime, if you want to get the latest on YouTube's GIF Maker, you can sign up to use the feature by clicking here.
