After multiple breaches into the U.S.'s energy grid and the compromising of government agencies, there was still one security protocol that felt secure: Getting a computer system off the Internet entirely.
But Israeli security researchers have just come up with new tech that lets hackers transmit data wirelessly even if a computer isn't connected to the Internet. The researchers released a video showing how their system works.
Don't worry, though, this hack isn't minor-league stuff. The only people who should be worrying is anyone with data that could potentially be worth millions.
A hacker would have to trick someone into installing a virus onto a computer, whether through targeted phishing attacks or by sneaking into the building itself. From there, the virus would transfer data directly to the hacker's phone.
It's just spy stuff for now, but that spy stuff could become something much more dangerous if security professionals leave it unchecked.
