I want you to stop for a second and take a look at your smartphone. Even if it's brand new, I bet you can already see a little wear and tear around the edges.

And for some folks, it's not a question of "if" but "when" they shatter the glass on their screen. Cases and screen protectors can definitely lengthen the life of your gadget, but they're not completely foolproof.

You know that the big smartphone companies have been testing ways to make the glass on smartphones stronger and more able to withstand the punishment of a busy life. That's what Sapphire glass was supposed to be for Apple.

Sadly, the Sapphire company is on its way out, thanks to the decision by Apple to not use Sapphire on the front of the new iPhone 6 like it had originally planned. Luckily, there's a new competitor that claims it has an even better solution than Sapphire glass.
