You will not believe what this man can do with fresh snow

We're still enjoying sunny skies and beautiful temperatures in my home state of Arizona, but other parts of the country are gearing up for winter weather, and that means one thing: snow. Nothing inspires hours of fun and creativity like snow. You can build snowmen, make snow angels or just have a good old fashioned snowball fight.

Or, you could design mind-blowing creations like Simon Beck. The mapmaker has used his professional skills to create unbelievable snow art that you have to see.

These aren't just any snow formations. Beck draws on his education in engineering from Oxford University and his career as a mapmaker to create true if temporary works of art. He uses mathematical patterns to design his work. Who said math couldn't be fun?

‘When you have a blank piece of paper you draw on it,’ he says. ‘So drawing on a blank snowfall seemed like a natural thing to do.’

He puts a lot of time and effort into his work, too. Beck spends about 11 hours and walks around 25 miles to design the artwork with his snowshoes.

I don't know about you, but these works of art put all the snow angels I made when I was a kid to shame. Just look at the size of them. Each piece measures roughly 320 feet square.

Beck started making the designs 10 years ago and now produces 30 unique drawings every year. He works mostly in the snowy Alps.

If you like what you see, you can buy an entire book full of Beck's snow masterpieces on his website for 35 euros (about $43.58).
