Before you ask - no, this new doggie backpack isn't going to help your dog tell you to fetch your own dang newspaper. What an all-new sensor-packed harness does do, however, is give you a better idea of how your dog is really feeling.

Believe it or not, many dogs are trained to bottle up their emotions. This all-new, prototyped harness tracks a dog's heartbeat, posture and breathing to track its health and emotional state.

While this harness was intended for dogs that are trained to hold back the barks like guide dogs, law enforcement pooches and doggie search-and-rescue, anyone could do to learn a new thing or two about their dogs.

The other neat thing about this tech is that it gives us another way to speak to dogs. The harness has haptic technology which uses physical motion to help a dog understand your commands. Basically, vibration will let your dog know whether to be excited, calm or protective.
