At first, Google Street View seems like an amazing tool that can show you pretty much anywhere on Earth, close up. And it is, but like the Internet as a whole, it also has a dark side.
This time around a woman in Canada sued Google and won after it posted an image of her with exposed cleavage as she was sitting on her front doorstep.
The small-claims case claimed the "flagrant abuse of her right to a private life, the protection of her image and of her dignity," and she was granted a $2,250 settlement.
Even though the woman's face, home address and license plate were blurred out of the photo, the judge ruled that doesn't instantly make the woman unrecognizable - she was still ridiculed and humiliated by colleagues.
