Customer service can make a huge difference in your experience and your opinion of different stores, right? But have you ever walked into a huge store and looked for help finding something? It’s frustrating when I can’t find an employee, or worse yet when that employee doesn’t know where to find my needed item.
Now Lowe's is experimenting with actual robots for customer service! They never call in sick and they know exactly where every single item is – and even if it’s in stock or not.
But are you ready to give up the human interaction of talking to a real person? These are just some of the issues as robots move into more and more positions replacing human employees.
The robots at Lowe's are called OSHbot and they supposedly will be able to do much more than any mere human.
They will work like this: You will enter the store and show the OSHbot what you need, let's say a certain type of nail that you don't know the name of. You can use an example of the type of nail you need, process it with the 3-D scanner, and the OSHbot will take you to the aisle that has the product you need.
Even better, the robot is able to speak multiple languages.
