Tech innovator Apple has invited the world’s media to a big event next Thursday with a cryptic message. What could Apple mean with “It’s been way too long?” Some say it's a clue to some really big products coming out just in time for the holidays.
But wait, didn't the Apple guys just launch two new phones, announce a new smartwatch, and even roll out a brand new mobile device operating system the other day?
Unlike last month's big iPhone launch, however, this event should go off as more casual and less of a theatrical circus. Instead of the gigantic Flint Center beside a giant white building Apple raised just for the event, next Thursday's announcement will take place at the Town Hall Auditorium right on Apple's campus.
Now, it is no secret that Apple likes to announce their new iPads in October. Beyond that, however, the rumors have been flying. Anyway, I have put together a little list of might be's for you.
So what should we be expect Tim Cook to hold up on stage come October 16?
Well, I would bet that we are definitely going to see at least one new iPad and probably some other new gadgets. However, we are dealing with Apple so don't be too surprised if they choose to surprise all of us with a market-ready spaceship.
Anyway, here's a short-list of rumored items and software that wouldn't shock me:
- An updated iPad Air
- A new iPad mini
- New iMacs with at least a 27-incher with high-res Retina display
- OS X Yosemite might finally hit
- Newly updated Mac minis
- Possible Apple TV upgrade
- Apple Pay may debut as well
Anyway, no matter what Apple has in store - whether its a new iPad, Apple TV, or 3D food printing app for hot lunches at your desk, I'll be on the front lines making sure you are in the know.
