With the release of the latest gadgets from Apple, many fans are flocking to their local cell carriers to get their hands on the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.
But what happens to those older gadgets when you come home with a new iPhone?
Generally, they are forgotten in junk drawers or languish at the back of a dirty closet. But you don't have to lose out on a great deal when you could be putting those old gadgets to work for you.
Take them to your cell carrier instead. There's quite a bit of trade-in value to be had for smartphones, and I'll break it all down to help you get the best deal.
Most carriers are giving a good deal to those of you who have taken good care of your phones, but you can trade in any of your old phones. Just keep in mind that the best trade-in values will come from the newest old phone with the least amount of damage. Having a larger amount of storage will also get you more money.
This cell provider giant has a pretty good deal for those of you looking to trade in your older iPhones. Verizon is offering up to $300 gift card for an iPhone 5s and $200 gift card for an iPhone 4, 4S, 5, and 5c.
Sprint has a deal running until the end of September (9/30/2014) where you can get up to $200 for your smartphone that's in good working condition. You can trade in your iPhone or iPad, but you must also give your serial number to get a quote online.
Not to be outdone by the larger companies, T-Mobile is offering to match what any other cell carrier is quoting for your phone, plus an additional $50. However, this offer is only good for one phone per line. Check your local T-Mobile carrier for details.
AT&T is going toe-to-toe with Verizon with its iPhone trade-in program, but only for a limited time. Until September 30, 2014, you can receive a $300 gift card for an iPhone 5s and $200 for an iPhone 4, 4s, 5, or 5c.
