Bad breakups are the worst, especially in the digital age. People have been known to go to extreme lengths to harass their exes on social media and through text messages.
Nobody knows that better than one woman in France who had to deal with a total of 21,807 text messages sent to her from her ex-boyfriend over the course of 10 months. That equals out to around 70 messages and calls per day.
The relationship ended in 2011, but the unnamed man demanded a "thank you" for doing chores in their apartment.
"At the time, my logic was that as long as she does not return my money, pay me for my work or at least tell me thank you, I would not stop my calls," he said. "Looking back, it was stupid."
The victim tried to block his calls, but he just switched to calling her parents' phones and her workplace.
According to Mashable, the man was sentenced to 10 months in prison for the harassment and was ordered to pay a $13,000 fine. He will also undergo psychiatric treatment.
