Snooping men and cellphone security: What everyone needs to know

I was chatting with a girlfriend the other day and we got on the subject of snooping. She likes to glance through her husband's phone every now and then to "keep him honest."

I asked if her husband glances through her phone and her response was that men don't snoop. My gut said she was wrong, so when I saw this I just had to send it to her, and I thought you'd enjoy it, too.

According to a survey of 13,000 people, 20% of men admit to snooping on their partner's phone, although I suspect the real number is actually a bit higher.

Although almost a quarter of male snoopers said they did so because they are nosy, 12 percent admitted they were trying to catch their partner lying to them.

In other words, ladies, you shouldn't just assume that you can leave your smartphone lying around unattended. Guys, I'm sure you already know that you can't.

Unshockingly, 25% of women admitted they snoop, and - again - I'm betting the real number is higher.

Almost a third of women said their excuse was curiosity, only 21 percent thought their partner was cheating and 14 percent wanted to see if their lover was lying to them.

OK, that's interesting, but we know that people are nosy. There's another part to this, though, that you really need to know.
