Salt-water supercar approved in Europe

It’s true. The Quant e-Sportlimousine literally runs on salt water. But like many things in technology, how it actually works is a bit more complicated. But now, the wonder vehicle is approved for all public roads throughout Europe.

The new driving machine, complete with its proprietary NanoFlowcell onboard power plant, gives drivers a zero-emissions, high-performance supercar capable of an environmentally friendly 217.5 mph (and a 0-100 mph time of 2.8 sec.)

Now, before we get ahead of ourselves, it is a bit early to start imagining a vehicle with traditional tank that we can just dump ocean water into. Nevertheless, what we do have is a new type of electric car battery (charged by salt-water electrolyte reactions) that propel the vehicle five times further than any other conventional battery on the car-powering market. And yes, that includes the new state-of-the-art lithium-ion versions.

NanoFlowcell could power more than just cars

If amazing efficiency wasn't enough to raise your eyebrows, what if I told you that it gives off almost no waste heat and has an 80% efficiency rating? In other words, there is nothing on the market (or off the market for that matter) that even comes close. Currently, the company is working on ways to make this technology more affordable - so it may be incorporated into to mass production vehicles.

NanoFlowcell AG Chairman of the Board Professor Jens-Peter Ellermann explains, “The potential of the NanoFlowcell is much greater (than just cars), in terms of energy supplies as well as in maritime, rail and aviation … It (the battery technology) offers a wide range of applications as a sustainable, low cost and environmentally-friendly source of energy.”

Great work guys! You had me at 217.5 mph. Now if they’d only offer it with the Night Rider package (sans Hasselhoff).
