Tell me if this sounds familiar: "In the great green room there was a telephone, and a red balloon, and a picture of a cow jumping over the moon." It's the opening lines from the famous "Goodnight Moon" storybook, of course.
One of my favorite things to do with my son Ian when he was little was to read bedtime stories. "Goodnight Moon," "The Tales of Peter Rabbit," "Winnie-the-Pooh" and Dr. Seuss stories are some I'm sure you've read to your own little ones before.
Good news for those of you who have always wanted to write your own kid's book: Amazon is making it even easier. That's right, your very own adventure book, chapter book or picture book could be the next bestseller with the help of Amazon.
Amazon has announced that it is rolling out a new program under the Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) program specifically for authors who want to publish their own children's book. It's called KDP Kids and it's a support program for authors to write, publish and promote their books.
But Amazon's not stopping there. In addition to KDP Kids, Amazon is releasing a new tool for the budding writer's tool belt to jumpstart that children's book, called Kindle Kids' Book Creator.
