Not everyone wants to share everything with Facebook.
Sure, connecting your Facebook and Netflix accounts together is a good idea to get movie recommendations from friends, but, as Mashable put it, you don't need everyone "on your social network finding out about your 'High School Musical' obsession."
That being said, Netflix has given its users more control over what they share via Facebook.
"For us, it's about trying to find a new social model that works for on-demand television," [Director of Product Innovation Cameron] Johnson said. "Most people already tell their friends about TV shows or movies they like, we're trying to make that experience seamless and quick within Netflix."
Now, if you merge your two accounts, you will see a recommendation box at the end credits. It will ask you if you want to recommend that movie or episode to a friend. From there, select the friend you wish to recommend the title to, and you're all set.
Your friend will then see a recommendation in their Netflix home screen, as well as on their Facebook page and from within Facebook Messenger.
That's a lot better than broadcasting your Netflix feed to the whole world, no? What do you think? Will you be using this feature in the future? Let me know what you think by posting in the comments below.
