The man behind Flappy Bird's explosively addictive game play just came out with his next project, Swing Copter. As a low-key Flappy Bird lover, I'll admit that I'm very excited from what I've seen of Swing Copter so far.

While Flappy Bird's punishingly difficult gameplay moved from left-to-right, Swing Copter moves straight upward. If you play the game, you'll be dodging swinging hammers and platforms in a helicopter. Like Flappy Bird, Swing Copter is a one-button game, and your only input is tapping the screen.
Tapping the screen turns your helicopter, and I'm willing to bet that getting the timing down is going to easily be as addictive as Flappy Bird. What's interesting to me, though, is that the app doesn't look like it will have the cash-grabby in-app purchasing options that you'd see in apps like Candy Crush.
One of my favorite things about Flappy Bird was that there weren't any "bonuses" that you could pay real money for. It was a simple game where the most important thing in it was your personal skill level. Look out for Swing Copter on all of your devices in the very near future.
