Freedompop's latest offering could give your iPad (any generation) 500MB of LTE downloads per-month for free. No, really. They even throw in a free phone number with 200 voice minutes and 500 texts.
I've covered no-contract phone carriers in the past, and I think Freedompop could be one of the first "anti-contract" carriers. The company isn't trying to sell you an expensive gadget up-front in exchange for cheaper monthly costs. Instead, Freedompop trying to turn your tablet into the most dangerous competitor to major cell carriers in, well, forever.
Only Sprint-friendly iPads work with Freedompop's free plan. They can port over your phone number, or create you a new one if you don't want to give up your mobile phone number just yet. Even if you're not interested in replacing your smartphone with a tablet, Freedompop can give you tablet 500MB of 4G LTE downloads for free.
This means that you won't have to subscribe to an overpriced data plan to check your email on the go.
