If you're a StubHub user, watch out!
The company recently admitted that a security breach gave hackers access to over 1,000 accounts. The hackers used stored payment information on the hacked accounts to buy and resell online.
An anonymous source told the Associated Press that law enforcement was aware of the issue and that arrests were expected. The culprits come from all over the world, so prosecuting might prove to be difficult.
What shakes me up, though, is the fact that StubHub apparently detected these breaches last year. Instead of announcing it to their customers, the company issued refunds. The company also blames malware on consumers' computers for the breach.
It sounds like the company is keeping something hush-hush, but we won't know until the case against this first wave of cybercriminals moves on to the next stage.
