Did you know that in the last two months, 34 percent of the entire American population was spammed by a single campaign?

If you've ever received a text messages for free samples or other items from Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Gucci, Prada, Celine, Oakley, Ray Ban, Michael Kors or Tiffany & Co., you're party of that 34 percent.

Don't fall for this tricky scam. Here are the red flags to look for:

  • Look at the domain name. It's very unlikely that sunglassesstore-us.com belongs to a company like Ray Ban.
  • How are the images? If they are low res and poor quality, you know it's a fake.
  • Is the offer too good to be true? Stick to that gut instinct.

There are other ways you can spot fake emails and offers. Click here for a few more of my handy tricks on spotting a fake email so you don't get scammed.
