I've heard some customer service horror stories, but this one takes the cake. This nightmare call proves that sometimes the hardest part of "cutting the cord" can be convincing the cable company to shut off your service.
I understand that customer service representatives have incentives to try and keep you as a customer. But, when you've made it clear that you are done using the company, they need to respect that.
That wasn't the case when Ryan Block called Comcast. He made it clear early and often that there was nothing Comcast could do to keep him, but the rep kept asking the same questions over and over anyway! Kudos to Ryan for keeping his cool during the whole call. The recording is eight minutes long, and the call was already going on for 10 minutes before the recording even started!
Listen below and you can hear Ryan tell the rep over and over again that all he wants to do is cancel his service and move on with his day. The guy on the other end even seems to give up for a second, but then starts asking the same line of questions all over again. How frustrating!
Situations like this are one reason I am a big fan of getting rid of cable altogether. Find out how you save money by "cutting the cord" and still watch all of your favorite shows.
