One of the first kid-centric smart watches was just released in South Korea.
LG's KiZON is a smart watch that helps kids stay in contact with their parents and uses state-of-the-art GPS and Wi-Fi capabilities to keep parents up to date on their kid's location. Where was this when Ian was a little guy?!
Slated to hit the North American market later this year, the KiZON is a utilitarian gadget. Instead of acting as a mini-smartphone, the KiZON lets parents enter important phone numbers into the device. All a kid has to do to get in touch with a parent or guardian is to tap the watch.
The KiZON also confronts a very basic problem with the tendency for kids to lose their gadgets. The KiZON is water and stain resistant, so kids won't have a reason to take the watch off.
For busy parents looking for peace of mind, the KiZON has programmable location-based notifications. With this kind of gadget, picking up a kid from school would be a breeze. The peace of mind doesn't hurt either.
