Microsoft's robotic butterfly will sense your emotions

Microsoft's robotic butterfly will sense your emotions
Microsoft Patent

I'm not quite sure what Microsoft is thinking with this one, but it's interesting nonetheless.

The company has filed a patent for a mood-changing robotic butterfly designed to help users relax. Yes, you read me right.

According to the patent filed, the butterfly will sync with a user's smart watch to determine the user's mood. If the butterfly finds the user is stressed, it will change its flying pattern to larger and more frantic wing flaps.

The goal is that once you see your butterfly stressed out, you will take action to calm down, like going for a walk. I'm sure there will be more useful applications as details emerge, but it all sounds pretty bizarre to me right now.

Do you think this project will see the light of day? Does it sound like something you would use? Let me know what you think by posting in the comments below.
