Arnold Schwarzenegger's Terminator famously uttered the line, "I'll be back." Well, it looks like he could, and Google might be the culprit.
One Internet user may have stumbled upon Google's plans to develop killer robots. A hidden webpage within Google appears to show instructions for T-800 and T-100 terminators.
Developers made sure to include directions not kill Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin in the file.
The funny nod to the Terminator franchise proves Google can laugh at itself. Many critics have compared the company to Skynet, the fictional artificial intelligence that created the titular cyborgs in the films.
It isn't much of a stretch given that Google has purchased several robotics companies recently, including Boston Dynamics - which makes humanoid robots - last year. So far, Google seems to be keeping its distance from military applications, even pulling out of a DARPA-sponsored robotics event.
Still, between Google's work in robotics and artificial intelligence, who knows what will happen in the future. Click this link to find out about the latest achievement in artificial intelligence.
Don't panic just yet, though. I don't think Google has plans to produce any robots that look like Austrian bodybuilders in the near future. No word on whether they will be participating in the upcoming movie.
