Here's a way to protect yourself from the NSA: the Blackphone.
SGP Technologies has started shipping the phone that they say is optimized for privacy. I told you about this phone earlier this year.
Built on Android KitKat, the phone offers encrypted voice and video calls and text messaging. Wi-Fi security is also high on the list, as is remote wipe.
Blackphone's initial inventory sold out quickly in the months following Mobile World Congress and SGP Technologies will re-open the Blackphone Web store at https://store.blackphone.ch on July 14 to begin accepting new orders. Customers in certain countries will be able to order Blackphone handsets through the device's carrier partners, such as KPN N.V.
But hiding from the NSA apparently isn't cheap. The Blackphone costs $629. That's a lot of phone!
If you don't have a Blackphone, there are still ways to protect your privacy from the NSA. Here's how to stop the NSA from bugging your phone even when it's off.
